One more thing to my list of things to do…

I will admit that this pregnancy I am definitely eating more Bon Bons and laying on the couch watching more TV. {Who knew that Dr. Phil was so full of wisdom?:)}

Yet aside from getting bigger and wiser, I am also still working…on my new website! “Why?” you might ask {just like every one of my family and friends has}? Good question. Perhaps I just like making more work for myself? Perhaps I enjoy staying up late working so I am very tired the next morning? Perhaps I don’t already have enough things to do? Perhaps.

Regardless, I thought you might like a little sneak peek of my new splash page until the whole shebang is ready…

I was waiting to announce my new blog until it was just perfect. And then I worked on a client’s print order instead of working on my blog. And then I worked on an album design for a client. And then I went shopping for my new office. And then I went to a photography workshop. And then I met with a client to discuss our upcoming shoot. And, and, and…in the meantime my not-yet-finished blog sat on the sidelines, looking at me like the puppy that has been waiting all morning for you to take him for a walk and you keep asking for 10 more minutes until it is too late to go for a walk so you go to bed (sorry, spot!).

So rather than keep waiting, I decided that I am ok with launching my less-than-perfect blog. One day soon I will be at my desk and take the time to make those last few tweaks and finalize this blog design. Until then, I hope you can forgive the little imperfections….

I started this post as an ode to sleep. It was about how much I have missed it so, remembering days not long ago, when we would meet at eleven, and continue our date until late-morning Heaven. {Perhaps this taste of my ode helps you see why I abandoned the idea and moved on to a more traditional format.}

The reason that I have been missing sleep lately is because I have been up late every night for weeks working on my name and website! Yes, I am now Joyful Girl Photography!

I still love A Kid’s Life Photography, and kids will still be my big love and focus. However, I wanted my name to be more versatile as I have done photo shoots with more than just kids including events and products and dogs, etc. Not to mention the fact that I did my first wedding in February and loved it and have two more lined up for the summer. And I am going to start working with high school seniors and am soooo excited about that too!

So, I hope you like my new name and website. It is still a work in progress and you will more than likely see little design changes here and there along the way.

Remember the times when you could sleep til noon?

When you stayed in jammies and watched cartoons?

When I wasn’t a busy mom with a job too?

And building my new brand name with a website to boot?

I love sleep way more than I can say

If I could, I would sleep until noon each day

And I used to do this

I used to sleep lots

And then I had kids

Two of them, now tots

Not to mention a business I love too

working so hard, so much to do
